Have you heard about the Puy du Fou show park planned close to Bucknell, near Bicester? Most of the reports I’ve read describe it as a theme park but it’s more of a show park than a theme park with rides.
A wooded park with landscaped gardens where visitors can immerse themselves in British history by visiting 4 period villages and 13 live shows (6 outdoor shows and 7 indoor shows).
They are also proposing three onsite hotels themed to different periods of British history and a conference centre. Apart from the conference centre, the show park which would be within easy reach of the M40 would be open from April to October each year.
Who are Puy du Foud?
They have 2 existing parks in France & Spain, creating live shows depicting historical events inspired and rooted in local heritage, local culture and local heroes.
This is at the consultation stage with meetings in Bicester on 6th Feb, Banbury 7th Feb & Bucknell 8th Feb. If it goes ahead they would be looking to start the project in 2026, opening 2029
