Meadowcroft Open Play Space

There is nothing Freddie loves more at the moment than a big open space and somewhere to kick his football.

We’re lucky that not far from us is Meadowcroft Open Space in Aylesbury which includes a large Astro turf with lots of goals.

On Saturday the sun was shining and we all wanted some fresh air so we packed up the football, Parker’s new remote control car and headed to meadowcroft.

There is a small park, an exercise area, two basketball courts and the large Astro turf. There are facilities but they are locked so not available for the public.

I’ll be totally honest, the park isn’t up to much. It’s pretty small and not something I’d travel to. But as a local park it has swings, two slides and climbing frames so it does the job to get them out of the house. But the main attraction for us is the football area. There are always families or groups of children using it and it’s lovely that it’s so well utilised and a space for football mad kiddos to practice and play!

We’ve always found the other children there friendly and kind to Freddie (he often tends to be one of the younger ones) and always get a big spot to play.

I will say that on this visit there was broken glass down the side of the pitches (which I’ve reported) which is such a shame, but much more about other users than the space itself.

I’m not writing this saying Meadowcroft open space is amazing or will keep you occupied for hours, but if you have kiddos who would like to play football or are looking for a big open space (there are  walks alongside the fields which also have some nice views) then it’s worth popping along!

There is also a small car park if you do drive in from somewhere!
