Would you like to play in a castle? Maybe you are the brave knight coming to the rescue, or are you the Princess in your fairy tale castle? Well a visit to Farnham Park’s Adventure Play Area can be like questing your way through a fairy tale.
The main centrepiece is a wooden replica of Farnham Castle and it truly is a masterpiece. A huge adventure awaits in this area alone, with rope bridges to climb on, stepping ladders to reach the highest height, tunnels to crawl through, and net bridges to swing across. Bella and I had a lot of fun here. There were so many different tunnels to crawl through, poles to slide down and bridges to run across.
The wooden castle was spectacular and provided endless amounts of fun, we were pretending to be princess and looking out over the woodlands to see what we could see. We had races along the wobbly rope bridges (and yes they do wobble a lot) and seeing who could make it to the slide first. There are also beautifully carved out animals set within this castle aswell from foxes, badgers and owls.
Towards one end of the playground there is an impressive trim trial, which consisted of wooden balancing beams. Bella was perfecting her skills at walking across these, and eventually attempting a run aswell. There was also a wooden climbing frame, monkey bars, and rope bridges- we love these types of equipment in playground as are perfect for children learning to climb, balance, helping their strength and hand and eye coordination too.
Swings are always a huge hit for us, and there plenty of these here. Be it the usual toddler swings, a basket swing, rope swing and even a fantastic zip line too. No surprising here, but Bella loved whizzing down the line and there was lots of giggles from her as she was gaining speed.
Along side the wooden animal carvings is a huge spider which the children can climb on. Bella had great fun climbing up its legs and posing for her pictures. I love all the extra details which have gone into the playground, and it really does appeal to children to come and explore.
Other facilities in the area include free parking, toilets, cafe, football goals, large playing field, golf course and various picnic benches to sit on.
