What’s On For Kids October Half Term in Gloucestershire 2023

Halloween Free October at Perrygrove Railway

If you don’t celebrate Halloween or just need a break from all the themed events then head to Perrygrove Railway.

Pumpkin Fun at Cotswold Farm Park 6th – 31st October

Get stuck into the spooktacular activities and pose at the selfie stations, before choosing those all-important carving pumpkins to carefully carry home.

eek! Week at Slimbridge Wetland Centre 21st October – 5th November

Put your spookometer to the test with our interactive activities. Will you dare to put your hand in a snake box, grab a photo op with a bat or get up close and personal with a toad? It’s a weirdly wild day out for the whole family.

Pirates & Pumpkins at Fairytale Farm (near Chipping Norton) 21st – 29th October

Lots of family friendly Halloween activities and fun at Fairytale Farm this October half term.  Included in admission, you can also visit the ‘Pumpkin Patch’, where every child can pick a free pumpkin for Halloween.

Hayles Fruit Farm Halloween Trail (Winchcombe, near Cheltenham) 22nd – 31st October (Closed Mondays)

The Halloween trail is £3 per child to include a sweet treat at the end! No entry fee to just visit the PYO field. No need to book, just turn up

Ghoul School at Berkeley Castle 22nd October – 5th November

Ghoul School is an interactive, self-led audio extravaganza that will teach your young thrill seekers all they need to know to become perfect little monsters. Along the way, they will encounter a spooky array of teachers who’ll impart their delights, frights and vampire bites



Halloween Farm Trail at Primrose Vale  24th October – 5th November

The Primrose Vale Farm Shop and PYO are returning this year for their ever popular Halloween trail, and Pumpkin Picking!

Spookyard Halloween Festival at Over Farm Countryside Adventure (Over near Gloucester) 26th October – 5th November

Spookyard’s back and packed full of fun, silliness and webloads of activities for all the family. Meet the wonderfully weird witches, enjoy the daily shows, blast a cob or twenty from the corn cannons and wow us with your freakiest fancy dress… The ghastlier, the better!

The House With Chicken Legs at Bacon Theatre (Cheltenham) 26th – 28th October

Trick or Treat Trail at Pittville Park (Cheltenham) 27th October

A spooky walk around the park, entry into The Boathouse where you can enjoy sweet treats, face painting, a raffle and entry into the fancy dress competition where you could win some spooky prizes!

Everlasting Entertainment Halloween Party (Gloucester) 28th October

You can expect live performances, lots of games and dancing, photo opportunities with 8 of our best characters, sweet treats and tasty snacks, glitter, tattoos, and SO MUCH MORE!

The Stanley’s Halloween Trail (Kings Stanley, near Stroud) 28th October

20 spooktacular displays to be found plus lots of fun activities including making marshmallow ghosts and decorating Halloween biscuits.

Whiteshill Scarecrow Trail 28th October – 5th November

Walk around the village and find the 40 themed scarecrows. Maps are on sale in the village shop and cost £4.

The Great Scarecrow Hunt at Painswick Rocco Garden 28th October – 5th November

Come along this half term and join in some scarecrow spotting fun! Local organisations and groups, as well as the Rococo Garden team, have been busy creating fantastic, scarecrow characters to hang out in our Garden – can you find them all and win a prize?

Dem Bones Children’s Trail at the Corinium Museum (Cirencester) 28th October – 5th November

Have a bone-jangling time in our galleries by following our special spooky skeleton trail. Bone up on the human body and it could lead you to a special prize

October Half Term Activities at Dean Heritage Centre 28th October – 5th November

Activities vary by day with pumpkin carving, indoor Halloween trail, arts, crafts and a monster tea party with witch in residence.

Roman Soldier Tour at the Museum of Gloucester (Gloucester) 27th October

Join auxiliary Roman soldier Lucius for a fascinating visit underground to the Eastgate chamber to see how and why the original City walls were built and what happened to them through the centuries.

Halloweek at Sudeley Castle 28th October – 5th November

Halloween Party at The Wilson (Cheltenham) 28th October

Two witching hours of activities, crafts and games in the café and Foyle, plus an exclusive Halloween trail through the dimly lit galleries.

Spooktacular Children’s Halloween Workshops at The Folk of Gloucester (Gloucester) 30th October + 1st November

There will be lots of fun Halloween craft activities including our special Pumpkin Patch to choose your own pumpkin to carve plus a Halloween Craft Activitiy Pack, Wand Making & Potion making. Take a journey following the Halloween Trail & Pumpkin Fairy trail using the activity sheet to find our spooky characters around the building and court garden .

Family Drop In Sessions at the Corinium Museum (Cirencester) 30th October

Get crafty at our family drop-in sessions and come away with a unique piece of art inspired by the museum. It is a great way to stimulate creativity and imagination, while learning a little about history.

Madagascar The Musical at Everyman Theatre (Cheltenham) 31st October – 4th November

The Musical follows all of your favourite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey

Creative Workshops at the Corinium Museum (Cirencester) 31st October – 2nd November

From creepy cupcake making to gargoyles and mini mosaic making, each day has a difference workshop activity.

Halloween Party at The Roses (Tewkesbury) 31st October FREE

Have a blast making spine-tingling snacks, playing thrilling games and spooky crafts.

The Wizard of Oz UK Ballet Theatre at Bacon Theatre (Cheltenham) 2nd November

Plastic Paradiso at The Roses (Tewkesbury) 2nd November

This gentle and timely dance theatre show for children and their grown-ups tells a story about resilience and friendship, whilst raising awareness about plastic in our oceans.
