Christmas Light Switch On Events in Surrey 2024

Find when all the Christmas lights are being switched on across Surrey in 2024. Many of the events combine with a visit to a Santa’s grotto, food stalls and lots more fun. If you’re after a magical illuminated trail there are some amazing events happening around Surrey and beyond too. The Christmas light switch on events in Surrey villages, towns and cities marks the start of the festive season and all the great Surrey Christmas events.
Surrey Christmas Lights Switch On Dates 2024
Thursday 14th November
Kingston Christmas market opens from 14th November and runs all the way through to the end of December. Expect twinkling fairy lights, food and entertainment.
Saturday 16th November
Aldershot Christmas Cracker (Aldershot) 16th November FREE
There’s a stocking-full of festive fun taking place throughout the town centre, with lovely stalls, two stages and street entertainment for all the family!
- Collectively Camberley Christmas Cracker (Camberley)
- Farnham Christmas lights switch on will have free, live entertainment, traditional carols, dancing, Christmas performances, fairground and Santa’s grotto.
- Warlingham Christmas lights switch on event entertainment will include choirs, the annual children’s lantern parade, Patches the Elf and the build up to the grand switch-on at 5pm.

Saturday 23rd November
- Cranleigh Christmas lights switch on event features live entertainment ahead of the official switch-on.
- Oxted Christmas light switch on will include a fun and festive afternoon of entertainment, family-oriented activity and Christmas shopping, culminating in the switching on of the Oxted Christmas Lights.
- Walton Festival of Light – with a Christmas Market, Live entertainment, a visit by Santa and our fabulous Lantern Parade
Sunday 24th November
- Godalming Christmas Lights Procession
- Guildford doens’t have an official turning on of the Christmas lights (as far as I can work out) but does have a festive family fun day with lots of free entertainment
Saturday 7th December
Carshalton Frost Fair will be lit with twinkling fairy lights which all helps create a magical atmosphere.
