BunkFest 2024
30 August - 1 September
BunkFest is a free-access community festival providing a unique, family friendly celebration with something for everyone. Set on the banks for the river Thames in Wallingford.
The festival has evolved to become less folk-music orientated and more of a community event showcasing broad-appeal musical talent from around the world.
In 2024, BunkFest celebrates its 22nd year – starting from a small marquee in a pub car park to filling the KineCroft and providing entertainment throughout Wallingford, on the River Thames and on the Bunk Railway line.
Where is BunkFest?
The Kinecroft which is the main festival site is located in the heart of the town. If you are coming to BunkFest by car please use the excellent Free Park & Ride service from the Hithercroft Road Industrial area.
BunkFest 2024 will expand in to part of the Bullcroft.
The plan is for the second stage, the dance stage, and the children’s entertainment to use this superb space. There will also be a bar, food traders, and Mr Alexander will be appearing at BunkFest this year for perhaps one last time. We see it as an extension to the main site on the Kinecroft as well as being a destination in its own right.
In previous years the town centre has been closed to traffic. This year the town centre will be open to traffic, with stalls in the market place. To allow safe and seamless movement between the Kinecroft and Bullcroft we have applied to pedestrianise the High Street from the Cross Keys to Goldsmiths Lane for the duration of the festival, with dancing in the street, and with careful provision for residents and businesses.
