Bourton Park Buckingham

Today we wanted a nice, buggy friendly walk with some scenic views – and Freddie wanted a play park! So we thought we’d head somewhere new and popped to Buckingham to visit Bourton Park in Buckingham.

Bourton Park is a lovely spot, there is lots of big open green spaces with a river running down one side and a pond system down the other. There is lots of wildlife residing here, we saw lots of squirrels and birds (and the kids loved the wooden otter statues)! Apparently otters have been spotted here and it’s no surprise with all the water and greenery to hide!

There is a path running around the outside of the park so we went for a lovely walk first, a highlight for the boys was how many bridges we saw and crossed on our walk, they love a bridge! Whilst walking around we came across a waterfall what a hidden gem! It was really cool to see up close and really exciting for the kids. And there’s something about the sound of rushing water that I find relaxing too. Such a cool little find in the middle of Buckinghamshire!

There are two parks here, the senior park and the junior park. The senior park is aimed at older kids and has a zip wire, wooden play frame with a slide, a net swing and the highlight for the boys was an open space with lots of toy diggers! Such a nice treat for them.

The junior park is for younger kids and must have been redone recently because it was in amazing condition, bright and colourful with lots to do. There was a roundabout, lots of swings, play houses, a climbing frame, obstacle course, a pirate ship and lots more. It also had a really good selection of swings!

My kiddos actually loved playing in both parks, but we spent longer in the younger park for sure! Parker said it was his new favourite playpark.

As you walk round the whole park there are lots of picnic benches scattered around so lots of choices of places to sit and relax. There was one right by the waterfall too!

There are basketball courts, places to place football and a table tennis table here too.
