The perfect way to keep cool on a hot sunny day. Aldershot Lido is the perfect setting for the whole family. This is the largest open air swimming pool in the area and has a lot to offer for that perfect sunny day.
The Lido has 3 fun waterslides (8 years+), a toddler paddling pool and large sandpit, 1m mixed diving board, picnic area in a scenic landscaped garden, basketball area, refreshments and a swimming accessories shop.
The pool is surrounded by grassland which is perfect for sunbathing or bring a gazebo to hide away in the shade and watch others enjoying themselves splashing about.
The main pool is perfect for a dip to cool off but at first is very cold but you soon get used to this. You are able to take in your own inflatables and water toys. Or if you feel brave enough you can try out one of the 3 slides which the pool has on offer, there is a slow or a fast slide to choose from.
For the smaller children there is a separate toddler pool, which is very small in comparison but the perfect size for splashing about. There is a gradual slope into the pool which makes it easy for the little ones to gain access to it, and the perfect depth to splash happily about.
In the grounds is a large covered sand pit area which provides endless amounts of fun for the little ones. This was extremely clean and a welcomed break from the sunshine as could happily play in here. So remember to pack a bucket and spade as the sand pit area is a must to visit.
You are able to take your own picnic with you but if you do fancy a bite to eat then the Tiki Shack provides hot refreshments such as chips, burgers and panini’s or need to cool down they sell delicious ice creams, drinks and refreshing slushies.
If you are after a sweet treat then the ice cream bar is perfect selling milkshakes, hot waffles, a wide variety of different flavoured ice cream and also sundaes. The large menu choice here will have something for everyone.
There is also changing facilities and toilets surrounding the pool, or if you’re pitched further away then there are portable toilets as well.
We had a great day here and all ages from our family enjoyed themselves, was a relaxing day in the sunshine with the pool to help us cool down.
